So far my blog has been to showcase my work at VFS. So to conclude the past year here is the demo reel I made to showcase my work at VFS (and the odd freelance project).

This is the final product for my project. After masking I motion tracked all of my animations so that their movement would match that of the camera and actors. I then added some overall effects (the frame, light flicker, and overall color correction) as well as background audio. The project totaled me 724 hours. Some of these were spent concepting a second commercial however the majority were spent developing this one.
Enjoy

I filmed my final project in Brandon Mb. We filmed in HD at 16:9 ratio, doing this gave me alot more room to play with and reframe the shot. We also filmed without a dolly so filming at a larger size allowed me to stabilizing the footage more easily.
When you stabilize footage it holds a certain point of the footage in the same position and therefore causes the frame to do all of the moving so I did end up having to clone in the sidewalk surface in certain scenes (the shoes, skateboard, and pants/shorts mainly) as you can see in the video.
After framing and stabilizing the shot I color corrected and then masked out the characters. Masking the actors allowed me to have my animations go in behind them and interact with them a lot better.
Here is a link to a T-shirt contest that Bang Bang T-shirts is putting on, it is Robot themed and the winner gets £125! The deadline is July 1st. If you would like more information about it their website is http://www.bangbangt-shirts.com . They have a few other T-shirt contests going on and some really cool designs on the site in general.
Deezer is a website that you can legally search, listen to music, and create playlists at without having to download. If you want to download music off of it I know that it works through the iTunes store. They also have a smart radio attached to it which chooses songs that it thinks you will like based on the music you have previously listened to. If you are sick of listening to the same music while you work you should check it out.
These are some of the animations I am using in my final project at VFS, for Cab Clothing. I sketched out all of the drawings, scanned them in and then used Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects.
